gas springs-Product outline

Attention: Please be certain to screw on the connecting parts.

1. Easylift gas springs will operate in surrounding temperatures ranging from -22ºF (-30°C) to 176ºF (+80°C). We can equip our springs with special seals to withstand temperatures as low as -49ºF (-45°C) or as high as 428ºF (+220°C). Gas springs should not be placed directly over heat or in open fire!

2. Gas springs are filled with pure nitrogen, an inert, non-poisonous gas that does not burn or explode. It is important to read the instructions before opening, however, because gas springs have a high internal pressure of up to approximately 300 bars.

3. Disposal/Recycling: Gas springs are comprised mostly of metal, and therefore are recyclable. As a precaution, it is extremely important to first depressurize the spring before recycling the metal.

4. All gas springs are labeled with the part number, production date, and the warning, “Do not open, high pressure”. We refuse any liability for any damage that results from removed or unreadable labels (e.g. due to influences of the surroundings).

5. Easylift gas springs can be used as a limit stop in both directions, and the occurring forces present should not exceed the following approximate values:

Series Force
6-15 4,000 N 892 LB
8-19 7,000 N 1,561 LB
8/10-22 7,000 N 1,561 LB
10/12/14-28 10,000 N 2,230 LB
14/20-40 20,000 N 4,460 LB

6. Gas springs should be installed with the piston rod downwards, to ensure best damping quality. Only Easylift gas springs include an integrated grease chamber that allows different means of installation.

7. During functional use, gas springs should not be exposed to tilting or to side forces. If this is unavoidable, please check the installation and use suitable connecting parts.

8. Easylift gas springs are maintenance free. Do not grease or oil the piston rod.

9. It is important that the piston remains unpainted and is protected against shocks, scratches, and dirt. The cylinder needs to be protected from damage, because any change in its shape would result in the destruction of the sealing system.

10. Easylift gas springs can be stored in any position, without loss of pressure. It is common that during the first compression of a spring a sticking effect may occur. This is an ordinary occurrence that simply requires a higher expenditure of force, known as an initial breakaway force.

11. Warranty claims expire one year after the date of production. Manufacturing mistakes and/or quality defects are immediately noticeable. If you are unsatisfied for any reason with the delivered quality, please return the springs immediately, and include your complaint and a copy of the original invoice.

12. At Easylift our gas springs are primarily produced using our expansive stock of parts. This allows production of the gas springs according to your orders, yet prohibits the possibility of cancellation, modification, changing, or refusing your order.

13. Easylift gas springs are built and tested with the highest standards of reliability in mind. In order to assist you in the selection process, we are available to advise you specifically and comprehensively. It is essential to examine your purchase order to verify that your order complies with your needs and specifications. We cannot assume any liability for the function and lifetime of your final product.

14. Within the limits specified, you are able to select the best dimension. The tolerance for the installation length is generally deemed to be +/- 2.5 mm (7/64"). In a series production, a manufacturing tolerance of maximum +/- 1 mm (3/64") applies. If very high demands are placed on durability and stability, please avoid the combination of low diameter + long stroke + high force.
